"Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing." ~Arundhati Roy
Are you a teacher, coach, healer, activist, creatives, entrepreneurs or other leader who wants to integrate social change and awareness into your work and everyday life?
Are you interested in doing big things in this world and want to create powerful change on the inside and out?
Is your level of activism where you want it to be?
Are you creating a program, course, or project and want to integrate feminism and social justice into it, but don’t know exactly how to or need another lens and some guidance?
Do you want to be more inclusive with your social justice language within your work, with your clients, projects, and relationships, and are needing some help on what words to use?
Are you clear about your passions, but not sure how they relate to your activism or feminism?
Do you believe that social change and personal growth or spirituality are connected, and wanting to embrace that connection more?
The personal/spiritual and the social/political are already connected; the two cannot be separated.
If you're like me, then you've been turned off by a lot of the personal growth/spiritual world because much of it fails to acknowledge the oppressive structures (White supremacy, patriarchy, capitalism, ableism, etc...) that we live under.
I believe that the more we deny the social and political within our own personal liberation, the more of a disservice we are doing to ourselves and to the world.
Doing the deep work of personal growth and connecting to our inner, spiritual wisdom also involves doing the deep work of undoing societal conditioning, internalized oppression, and looking at the ways in which we perpetuate oppression in our daily lives so that we can become more free within ourselves and create more ways and spaces in the world that foster liberation and justice for everyone.
-Integrate your feminist and social justice beliefs and values into your everyday life and work. This includes helping your integrate your values and beliefs into any programs, courses, or projects that you're creating
-Get clear on what your values are
-Get in touch with societal stories and beliefs that you have internalized that are holding you back from doing more of what you want
-Unpack the societal conditioning that keeps you boxed in and prevents you from being ALL of you and do what you are meant to be doing in this lifetime
-Get clear on what your activism strengths are and how to engage with them in your daily life
-Guiding/teaching you to take your work to another level to create the kind of inclusive, just, feminist, and liberatory society/community that you envision
-Envision what changes you want to make within yourself and within your communities and society
-Use your passions for social justice
I have a master's degree in Anthropology and Social Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California and a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida.
I am a certified counselor of the Interchange Counseling Institute, a transformative training program for coaches, counselors, and anyone interested in growth.
I am the co-creator of Whole / Self Liberation-a movement that acknowledges the interconnectedness between personal liberation and social liberation. We offer workshops, programs and retreats. More to come on this. Stay tuned!
My superpowers include being an empath, intuitive, creative, and an introverted "cheerleader".
For eight years, I worked as a self-employed fitness trainer and long distance running coach. I was a competitive runner for 20 years of my life, from eight years old to twenty-eight years old and ran marathons (including a few ultras) in my 20s.
*I am sex-positive, sex worker-positive, LGBTQIA+, kink & BDSM-positive.
Personal growth, spirituality and social justice are intertwined. I believe we are spiritual beings having human experiences. We are all connected, and it is our responsibility, as humans, to care for one another's life, liberation and justice, and to act upon that care.
I believe in the intelligence of the mind, body, emotions and spirit. It's important to attend to and grow each one.
I believe that all oppressions fall under the same system. I acknowledge intersectionality-a term coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw-which is the experience of multi-oppressions-which include but are not limited to race, disability, sexuality, gender and class. I am not free if you are not free. My fight for liberation and justice is a fight for your liberation and justice.
I live my life guided by my intuition because my intuition is connected to my soul and only wants the best for me. Many of us are taught, from a young age, to value our rational mind more than our intuition and spirituality, and because of this, we have disconnected a lot from who we truly are underneath all the societal conditioning.
I believe in elevating diversity, which is reality, and am interested in the perspectives and experiences of people who are marginalized in different ways that I am. As a feminist, my commitment is to constantly learn, grow and evolve.
Like Audre Lorde, I believe that selfcare is not self-indulgence, but that it is self-preservation. Selfcare is not a luxury; it is essential to our well being and livelihood. Selfcare does not only show up in isolated instances like bubble baths and meditation, but also involves the support of others (community, friends, family, even strangers...) and creating and holding our boundaries. It involves connecting to our joy, which involves feeling all of our feelings and learning to be with ourselves, accept our bodies, embrace who we are.
