"Cameron Airen embodies everything that I love about feminism. Her voice is a beacon of light in the intersectional feminist community. With a podcast highlighting the lives of a diverse array of women, her blog in which she explores questions of womanhood, and her incredibly lively twitter chats, Cameron consistently draws feminist voices from all over into meaningful conversation about healing, self-awareness, and growth."

Hello beautiful soul!

I'm Cameron Airen, a Feminist Creative: Podcaster, Writer, Interviewer, Leader and Coach.

Welcome to Real Feminist Stories: a blog and podcast about "everyday" feminists doing amazing things and creating conversations around intersectional feminism. I created Real Feminist Stories because I want to elevate the voices that have been left out and are not often heard. Real Feminist Stories provides a platform to diverse "everyday" voices from an intersectional feminist approach. Real Feminist Stories aims to share stories, raise important questions, and create engaging conversations.

My Experience

I received my masters degree in Anthropology and Social Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. My activist ethnography focused on co-research with sex workers I knew in the San Francisco Bay Area. I received my B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. One of my biggest passions in life is listening to diverse feminists tell their stories and sharing those stories. My writing and interviews have been featured in The Huff Post, BUST magazine, GirlTalkHQ, Bitch Flicks, and American Ninja Warrior Nation.

In addition, I love writing, dissecting women/gender in film and television, traveling, and being creative in the kitchen. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 8.5 years. Now, I'm living nomadically, but am mostly in California.
